There are times when you are looking through your timeline (by now, we are sure that all people out there who use social media know what that word means) and you find links or with drop down videos on them that are being shared or retweeted. Some of these videos are hilarious, some a so innovative that when you watch them you really want to share them on every social media platform you are registered on even the chats or messengers so that other people see them too.
These very viral short videos are called Vines, they are 6 seconds long but the impact they carry is stronger than your usual TV commercial.
It all started out as a love child of Twitter on how to share videos easily on the platform and so many people embraced it, from silly pet videos to dance routines, Vine has become the App for anyone who wants to put out a simple viral 6 seconds message.
We all know how important social media is in marketing strategies, most companies have incorporated it into most of their PR systems because more and more people are embracing social media and even using it run businesses that if you want to advertise your brand, it is the easier and cheapest way to do it.
Coca Cola is one of those companies that quickly started using vine for brand placing, you may ask yourself; how does a company gain from just 6 seconds of visuals? Well, that is simple,
Simplicity and creativity must be the first things one thinks about before creating a vine that will capture the viewer’s mind because there are so many vines out there that are very interesting and someone would rather watch than something that is not catchy but they will end up watching it either way, but sharing it will be the issue, everyone wants to share something that others will enjoy. In fact, sometimes people want to out-do others on how hilarious the video they shared is compared to the one someone else shared.
The other thing is to always make sure that you bring out the campaign in the message; the best example would be the Samsung Vine of an animated basketball player leaping through different phones to dunk in the last one, it’s a simple well- made ad that is catchy and will be shared all over by not only the basketball fanatics
but anyone into graphics and the girls who like cute things.
Now when you make a vine be it for business or just fun:
– Remember the video is just 6 seconds
– Please try not to cram everything in, it will only make it messy and confusing.
– Avoid using slow-motion.
– Involve your fans/ followers and friends, it makes things more interesting especially when it comes to brand placing.
– Only post the vine when you are fully satisfied about it or you might delete immediately after posting.
– Edit, edit, edit!!
– Vines are meant for sharing, so shaaaaaare!!
-Lastly use all the appropriate hashtags to get more clicks and view.
