February is here, oh the beautiful month of love as they call it, February is the month where people choose to have one day in the whole year to shower love and affection on their loved ones instead of making sure they utilize the whole year instead.
Now, we are not here to criticize you but to make it even easier for you: it being the month of love, we want to show you a couple of ways you can be loving too.
Social media has helped ease communication among individuals but at the same time it has also increased friction, there are a number of things that we do that anger or irritate our loved ones on social media and we want to avoid those things as much as possible:
-
Be Appreciative:
Appreciate those who take the effort to talk to you whether it is via whatsapp or any other chat app, when they say hello say hello back and maybe take a step further and ask them how they are, what they are up to. In short, be nice because such people think and care about you.
-
Show some Love:
It might not have to be only for this month, but for the rest of the year. Be loving to those that love and care for, show them you care by once in a while calling them up, send them an e-card (they are very easy to find ), making them your #MCM or #WCW or maybe your person of the month. It does not have to be your partner, it can be anybody, your friends, siblings, workmates, assistant even your boss.
- Put your phone down and talk to them, you know face to face and no, not face time. Have a normal conversation with them that off whatsapp and twitter or facebook away from all the electronics. There’s is nothing more stimulating and wonderful than two people sharing ideas or just plain conversation the old school way, try it.

- Share some funny quotes and accounts with them, you know those hilarious 9gag or gifs that make you die with laughter not literally of course. Share them with with those you care about, you never know whose day you make.

- There’s no other but don’t just use a day or month to appreciate the people that love and care about you, take the whole year and use each day to be grateful that God has given you enough people to show you that you are important.
At the end of the day, Love is not something we keep to ourselves: as human beings we are prone to that ache of wanting someone to share our lives with, someone that will be more than family. We go out and seek those people and when we get them, we sometimes forget why we got them in the first place. Do not let one day be the only time your do the above and more things for them, at the same time appreciate the most important person in your life, YOU.
